Consultation

Tell us the subject, the exam date and the school. We reply by email and suggest a tutor.

Diagnostic

The student takes a timed test on Testlyn. The tutor reads the result before the first lesson, so lesson one is not spent finding the gaps.

A written plan

Weeks to the test date, topics in order, and the score or grade each stage should reach.

Lessons and homework

Live lessons online. Homework comes from the same bank and is marked; parents see attendance, work and marks.

Questions parents ask first

Who are the tutors?

A small team based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the same team that runs 8020 English. SAT tutors are hired only with an official score of 1500 or higher. AP, IB and A-Level maths, sciences, economics and computer science are taught by tutors with PhDs or master's degrees. Each tutor's score or degree is on the tutors page.

How much does tutoring cost?

Fees depend on the subject, the level and how many lessons a week, so we quote after the free consultation. The consultation and the diagnostic test cost nothing and do not commit you to anything.

Which time zones can you teach?

Our tutors work on Vietnam time (GMT+7). That suits families in Asia, Australia and the Middle East during the day and evening. For Europe it means late afternoon and evening lessons; for North America, early morning or weekend slots. We confirm the slots during the consultation.

Are lessons one-to-one?

Yes. One tutor and one student per lesson, online. The same tutor stays with the student for the whole plan unless you ask for a change.

What happens between lessons?

The tutor sets homework from the Testlyn practice bank: SAT modules, AP free-response, IB and IGCSE past-paper style questions. Work is marked, and parents can see attendance, submitted work and marks in their own view.

Is Testlyn affiliated with College Board, IBO or Cambridge?

No. SAT and AP are trademarks of College Board, IB of the International Baccalaureate Organization, and A-Level and IGCSE of their exam boards. Testlyn is an independent tutoring service and is not endorsed by any of them.
