K-12 school support

One-to-one tutoring for students at international and bilingual schools, grades 6–12

Short answer: Testlyn tutors maths (pre-algebra to calculus), physics, economics, computer science and English academic writing for students in grades 6–12 at international and bilingual schools, one-to-one and online. Lessons follow the school's own curriculum, whether American, Cambridge Lower Secondary or IGCSE, and the student's current homework and tests. It is the same team that teaches our SAT, AP, IB and A-Level students, so a student can stay with one tutor from middle school to the final exams.

How school support works

Starts from the school

The tutor reads the school's syllabus, recent tests and teacher comments, and works on what the class is doing now as well as the gaps behind it.

Before tests, not after

Lessons are planned around the school calendar so the student revises before unit tests and exams, not after the grade comes back.

Parents can see it

Attendance, homework and marks are in the parent's view on Testlyn, with a written note from the tutor.

Questions about K-12 tutoring

Which school curricula do you follow?

We work from the student's own school materials. Our tutors regularly teach American-style curricula, Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE. Tell us the school and the course in the consultation and we will say whether we are a good fit.

Do you tutor primary school students?

One-to-one tutoring is for grades 6–12. The Testlyn practice bank includes Cambridge Primary practice that younger students can use free.

Can the same tutor continue to SAT, AP or IB?

Yes. The K-12 tutors also teach our SAT, AP, IB and A-Level students, so a student who starts in grade 8 maths can continue with the same tutor into AP Calculus or IB Maths.

Is this homework help or a full course?

Both, in one plan. Part of each lesson covers current schoolwork; the rest fills earlier gaps in order, so the student keeps up with class and gets ahead of it over time.

How much does K-12 tutoring cost?

We quote after the free consultation. The fee depends on the subject, the grade and the number of lessons.

Free practice for school and admissions tests

Timed tests marked on submission, no account needed. SSAT is the admissions test for many US and international private schools, grades 5–11.
